Greater Washington Chapter Alums,
We’ve received inquiries from some of you about Run To Honor 2011, so want to share the following:
What is
Run to
Honor:
Run To
Honor
was
created
in 2007
by
members
of the
Class
of
1995,
for the
purpose
of
honoring
their
classmates
killed
in the
War on
Terror.
Since
its
inception,
Run To
Honor
has
grown
into a
501c3
(registered
non-profit)
charity
with an
expanded
mission
of
honoring
all
Naval
Academy
Alumni
lost in
combat
or
military
operations
in
service
to our
Nation.
In a
spirit
of
camaraderie,
through
participation
in
athletic
events,
we
perpetuate
the
memory
of our
fallen
brothers
and
sisters
and
provide
support
through
renewed
recognition
of
their
sacrifice
for the
families
they
leave
behind.
How it
Works:
Every
year we
gather
on
Marine
Corps
Marathon
weekend
to
reflect
on the
sacrifices
made by
our
friends
and to
support
and
encourage
the
families
they
left
behind.
Alumni,
friends,
and
families
of
honorees
come
from
around
the
United
States
to
attend
our
Memorial
Dinner,
run the
10k or
marathon,
spectate,
and
participate
in the
post-run
social
at the
Run To
Honor
tent.

I
join?”

Go
to
our
website www.RunToHonor.com and
enter
your
email
address
in
the
box
labeled
“Join
Run
To
Honor.” You
will
receive
emails
keeping
you
updated
on
all
Run
To
Honor
activities.
-
Registration
for
the
Marine
Corps
Marathon
(MCM
website)
is
available
for
active
duty
right
now
and
will
be
open
to
the
public
on
23
February.
Register
as
soon
as
you
can,
these
spots
fill
up
FAST!
For
those
who
are
new
to
Run
To
Honor,
we
do
not
require
you
to
register
through
our
charity.
Just
register
as
you
normally
would,
through
the
MCM
website,
and
then
send
an
email
to runtohonor@gmail.com to
let
us
know
that
you'll
be
running.
Registration
for
the
10k
is
later. If
you
want
help
with
training,
training
programs
designed
by
Class
of
1995
member
and
Marine
Corps
Marathon
Champion,
CDR
Rich
Cochrane,
are
available
on
the
Run
To
Honor
website.

Purchase
a
Run
To
Honor
shirt: Shirts
will
be
for
sale
towards
the
end
of
Spring
and
you
will
receive
notice
via
the
email
distribution. We
will
have
shirts
for
sale
during
the
summer
and
will
announce
this
via
email.
